Q: 2008 jeep patriot rear window won't go up but will go down?
any ideas why it won't work by either switch meaning drivers door or own door

A: Sounds like the green ooze from the engine has flooded the electrical unit in the Jeep patriots control panel causing the jeeps window electrical unit to go up and down spontaneously. Please take it to a shop and get it repaired asap.

Q: Does the GPS Navigation system (mopar no. 05064184AF) in the 2008 Jeep Patriot play DVD's?

A: I am not sure about the Mopar number you put in, but my friend have a 5 CD changer factory fitted player which plays MP3 (Dodge Charger), it plays MP3 DVD as well. Lots of songs in one DVD and u r all set. This was last years model.

Q: What do you think about the 2008 Jeep Patriots?
Any body have one or know someone who has one???

A: JUNK...Get a grand or wrangler..a friend of mine bought one and he hates it...no power..no room.... looks ugly

Q: Jeep Patriot?
When will the realease date be for the 2008 Jeep Patriot? I am in California if that helps. By the way, I don't know if it has already been released for the public or not.

A: I had my 2008 on order. The dealership had on other 2008 on their lot. They should be a few on the lots right now. Check autotrader.com or cars.com and search inventory. You could also call around. I know at autotrader.com I saw a bunch of 2008's on dealership lots. Good luck hope you find what your looking for.

Q: Does anyone know anything about the 2008 jeep patriots.?
My husband and I fell in love with the new patriot and are thinking about getting one. has anyone heard any consumer reports.

A: I purchased a 2008 Jeep Patriot in February and absolutely love it! For an SUV, it's the best in affordability. In addition, it is great on gas and handles really well. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it. It is fun to drive.

Q: jeep patriot color?
i'm getting a jeep patriot this summer and wasn't sure which color to get... i'm a 22 yr old girl and want either black or white, which do you think?? you can look at the colors here: http://www.jeep.com/en/2008/patriot/ thank you oh i'm leasing it, so resale isn't a problem, thanks

A: I would go with the steel blue.

Q: Do front air deflectors work?
I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot and I've noticed that long distance driving, I have tons of bugs splattering all over the windshield. Will an air deflector help?

A: Just wash the bugs off. Those deflectors catch air and you likely will see an increase in fuel use.

Q: 2008 Jeep Patriot?
This car is listed with a "manual" transmission, I thought that wasn't automatic?? Am i crazy?? Also, any suggestions or reviews/comments about the Patriot? I really like it but I'm trying to find pros and cons before I make any decisions... Also... I know the base price is around 15 but how much are we looking at with power windows etc? I can't come across it online! Blah

Q: Jeep dealers in financial trouble - can I buy a Jeep with confidence?
I am considering purchasing a brand new 2008/09 Jeep Patriot but I heard about Chrysler and how they are in financial trouble. I would hate to buy the vehicle and then be stuck for parts if something goes wrong with the vehicle and have no-where to take it for log book maintenance/servicing. Also, my warranty could be down the drain if the company goes bust. Do you think the Chrysler company will fold? Do you think I should take this into consideration when deciding whether to go ahead and purchase the Jeep Patriot? I am in Sydney Australia.

A: If you are considering any jeep, buy a tj wrangler. the aftermarket part support is huge, and they are easy to work on if something goes wrong, which isn't often. parts will be made for the wrangler 100 years from now... The patriot is a good mileage road car, but don't expect many jeep-like bomb-proof off-road qualities from it. If chrysler goes bust, parts will still be there, but there may not be anyone at the controls to make sure they all fit right, just a bunch of smaller companies trying to make a buck.

Q: Buying my first car?
I'm about to take private drivers ed even though I'm already 16 and I need a car in about the 15,000 to 20,000 price range. I'd like an suv and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport is the car of my dream, but sadly enough the cheapest they go for is more than I can afford. I'm thinking about the 2008 Jeep Patriot but I'm not sure, I'm also looking at used Audi A4's but I really need some help deciding on what to buy.

A: if your only 16 and this si your first car, where the heck are you going to get 15 to 20 thousand at. Shoot pal, I know allot of grown ups that cant afford that much. If you got it to spend, buy what you love. You will ALWAYS remember your first car. 1976------Monte Carlo

A: My nephew is thinking of buying a Jeep Patriot, this past Saturday we went on a test drive. I really liked it!!!

Q: car help please?
okay i'm writting this story and the car that they are driving breaks down. now its a 2008 Jeep Patriot. i was thinking that something with the transmission would go wrong but i don't know what. can you please describe a problem in full detail? thanks okay they've been driving for two days, only stopping for gas and for an occasional rest stop. now they are always on the move, so the car has a lot of mileage. the car was having problems with accelerating so what could be wrong with the car?

A: YOU COULD SAY THEY HIT A ROCK AND IT FLEW UP AND KNOCKED A HOLE INTO THE OIL PAN, CAUSING THE OIL TO LEAK OUT AND THUS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FREEZE UP AND THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO BUY A NEW ENGINE.

Q: How much should be taken off new car cost for transportation damage?
I ordered a new 2008 Jeep Patriot and it was finally delivered to the dealer with some damage that occured during transportation of the vechile. They replaced the front fender and now it looks like new. They did have to disclose the damage and it will show up on the Carfax report for now on. I am going to try and negotiate a lower price since the car is no longer worth the original agreed upon price. How much would this type of repair financially impact the resell value of the car? I know nothing about cars, so even an estimate would be helpful. Once a vehicle has been in a wreck or damaged in any way the resell value goes down significantly even if it has been repaired. I know because I just sold a car that had been in a minor wreck and had been repaired.

A: I doubt that it will ever show up on a carfax report. If there was no accident report, no insurance claim, no title to "brand". If the vehicle is damaged during transport, the damage is noted on the bill of lading and the transport carrier pays for the damage. If the damage is serious the dealer also does not have to accept the vehicle either. The dealer can send it back and let the mfg fight it out with the transporter. It not considered a "lemon" or a damaged vehicle if the dealer replaced a damaged bumper with a brand new OEM bumper. You don't have to accept the vehicle if you don't want to... but the dealer also doesn't have to discount the price if they have made the vehicle conform to all MFG specs. I think you should either accept (or don't accept) the vehicle and the terms that you agreed to when you ordered it. If you choose not to accept it just buy a different one, but don't expect a different price that you originally agreed to and the dealer is delivering exactly what their end of the bargain entailed.

Q: Which Jeep Is The Best Buy?
This is for a leased Jeep. My husband and I will be sharing this vehicle. We do mostly city/suburban driving. We do take a long distance vacation about once or twice during the duration of the lease. We currently have a 2004 Buick Regal with leather interior. It only has about 41,000km (25,477 miles) on it. We'd like to stick with leather seats because we have two dogs...no children...and leather is easier to clean. We aren't really interested in the Jeep Wrangler because of the size and insurance costs. We've test driven the 2008 Compass, 2008 Patriot, 2008 Liberty, and 2008 Grand Cherokee Diesel. We're really leaning toward the Patriot Limited or the Liberty Limited. We've test driven the Buick Allure and we like it well enough, but there is far too much cheap and easily scratchable plastic "burled wood" trim. If we were to get the Allure, I'm afraid I'd feel that I paid good money for a car I didn't get. (We really love our Regal but the lease is about to run out) 1. We prefer to lease so we always have a newer vehicle. We don't drive the car enough to get good value out of a purchase and the resale value of a 4 year old used car doesn't warrant the higher car payments of a purchased car even with our lower mileage. 2. The insurance for a Jeep Wrangler is very expensive and leasing one of those actually will cost us more in total than leasing a Patriot or Liberty. We live in an area of Canada where there is Provincial auto insurance so there is only one insurance company.

A: As a Liberty limited owner I can say it is a winner! fuel economy power comfortable roomy for a midsize no parts replaced in 1 full year...(abnormal by todays standards)

Q: which car to buy?
i am going to look at a 2008 jeep compass and a 2007 jeep patriot today. i like the look of the compass better, but really am looking for what is better and more reliable. does anyone have any 1st hand experience with these 2 models? thaks for all your help

A: Well I test drove a 2007 Compass, it was ok. I came home with a 2008 Patriot. I liked the look of the Patriot better. I love my Patriot, its so much fun to drive, does great in the rain, no problems and I've had it for almost three months. Do your research on both, know your stuff. Some dealerships don't know much information. When I went and got mine I knew just about everything. Your doing the right thing by driving both and you will come home with the one that is right for you. EDIT: I should of said since they are so new that some of the salesmen don't know all the information on them yet. Mine told me I knew more about the Patriot than he did.
