Q: Remote Starter for 2008 Jeep Liberty?
im 16 and i am skilled at working on cars. i know just about everything to car but i am not skilled in working on electrical units with cars(its the one field im learning about right now). anyway i want to install a remote start for a 2008 jeep liberty for my dad for xmas. it doesnt need a bypass module cause it doesnt have a antitheft system. and i was thinking about getting my neighbor( a excellent electricain) to help me. i know that there are wires that will go to the ignition system and the brake pedal wire. so what do you think should i do it at home with my neighbor? any tips? Thanks

A: My suggestion is if you are not very experienced with auto electrical matters, a remote start is not the project you want to start with. All the 2008 Jeep Libertys have a chipped key, so it will need to be bypassed. There are LOTS of connections which if you screw up will at least cause the system to not work or at worst keep the car from starting. Code Alarm and Viper make very good systems (about $200-500). Jeep now offers a factory kit. Stay away from the wally mart $99 packages, they don't provide enough instruction on newer cars. good luck.

Q: i just bought a used 2008 jeep liberty 4x4. not sure if i could add a third row of seats in the back does ?
anybody know if this is possible? their are some holes that looks like i can

A: No its not possible. Those holes are fore tie down points. No 3rd row seat option exists for the Liberty. I do believe that the Commander has the 3rd row seat option. You say you just bought it, did you even look into that when you bought the Liberty????

Q: Jeep Liberty - What are the rebates going to be on the 2008 Liberty?

A: Like our friend at TNAP said, no rebate will be offered on the 2008 Jeep Liberty when it is brought out because it is a new model and Chrysler is lowering the base price of the 2008 Liberty. This means that remaining 2007 Libbies will more than like have at least another $500.00 to the rebate on the remaining model when the 2008s hit the lot.

Q: Anyone know when the 2008 Jeep Liberty will be out?

A: Production started today, should be at the dealers in early September.

Q: 2008 jeep liberty part from uk?
i wanted a part for my jeep that is only sold in the uk anyone know of a website id be able to order from and please keep your comments about there being no liberty in the uk its the cherokee i know this lol

A: I'm in the UK. Can't help with where you can get the part from without knowing what it is! Add the info and I'll see what I can find out.

Q: How reliabliable is the Jeep? I am looking to trade my 2001 Honda for 2008 Jeep Liberty. Smart or No?
I presently own a 2001 Honda Accord V6 Coupe, I love it, but its small. I always wanted an SUV, but they are really expensive. I got my Honda for its reliability, durability and because they maintain their value. So now I am looking at the Limited Jeep Liberty, although its not quite as roomy inside as I expected but at least if I lease I can afford it (lol), with the option to buy afterwards. But my main question is how reliable & durable is the Jeep & Jeep Liberty? Do they start give after the new car smell is gone. I read somewhere that they begin to give problems after the 3 year mark. How are they on fuel? They are giving me a lifetime warranty on the engine, transmission and drive system, is this where the Jeep has most of its problems? Is there any other SUV recommended in the 30K price range full loaded?

A: i owned a 2001 honda civic ex and traded it for a 2005 jeep liberty in january. i miss the gas mileage i had w/ my civic but i love the jeep. i haven't had any problems w/ mine except for the rear window hatch got bent and i had it fixed and it did it again so i had my dad and brother mess w/ it. needless to say, the fixed it better than the dealer did. i did love my honda though, until the transmission went out on it last year and then i had nothing but problems w/ it. so it all depends on what you like. if you haven't had any problems w/ your honda i'd stay w/ honda. the cr-v's and pilot's are good honda suv's. most likely will get a honda suv after my jeep's paid off!!

Q: 2008 Jeep Liberty- 4X2?
I have the option to save money on my next lease and opt for a 4X2. How much better is a 4X4 versus the 4X2. I have the 4X4 now on my 2006 Liberty, but if I can save $30 a month to go with 4X2, then I will, only if it's ok to drive in bad weather conditions w/o it. I live in Michigan, snows about 4 months out of the year

A: My boyfriend is the car expert, he said if you have no choice but to drive in inclement weather it is better to spend the 30.00 a month for the 4x4, if you get in an accident it will wind up costing you more with insurance and your deductible in the long run. We live in NY where the weather has been OK so far but he would still go for a 4x4. Good Luck

Q: We're getting a 2008 Jeep Liberty Ltd with 17" wheels so it is Trail Rated?
What color do you think we should go for? We wanted the Jeep green but we'd have to pay an extra $1k to get it with all the other features we want. We thought of red as our second choice but our next door neighbour has a red SUV (Envoy) and we don't want it to look like we're "keeping up with the neighbors." We have FINALLY hit on the Silver and it is available with the options we want. Do you think we should wait and pay for the green or should we "slightly" settle and go for the silver? The Liberty Limited premium package comes with 18" tires, which failed the trail rating due to the size of the tires within the wheel well. Once the 17" tires are in place, the trail rating is reinstated. (Info from the salesman and my sleuth of a husband) The Trail Rated thing is important to my hubby, not to me. He is perfectly aware that he will never have a moment of peace and happiness if he takes the new Jeep on one of those Jeep endurance tests. He just wants to know that he COULD if he chose to.

A: The 18" wheels on the Jeep Liberty are not trail rated according to Jeep's website. This is for a few reasons (likely the strength of the tire side wall). In any case since that is the problem, the solution is to put on another size tire. The 17" are "Trail Rated" and so the vehicle would now comply with Jeep's Trail Rated certification. As for the paint colour issue, since you started out asking for Jeep Green, then moved to red, now finally to silver, I suggest you settle on one before the dealer and/or your husband decide to just paint it plaid! :)

Q: Anybody own any 2008 and up Jeep Liberty's?
I have an 08 Liberty and I'm looking for a place that I can find accessories for it. Also looking for a mechanical manual that shows how to take things off and put back on. Wanting to put in a new stereo and would like to know how to properly take the door panels and dash plates off and on.

A: Your local Jeep dealership (or a variety of online dealerships and shops like JustForJeeps.com) offer a wide selection of Mopar and aftermarket accessories. As for the manual, you can either buy a PDF version from Chrysler for $120 at techauthority.com, or you can buy a one-day subscription to Tech Authority and access the information you need online.

Q: Quick! 2007 Jeep Liberty or 2008 Ford Escape?
I've been looking at a 4X2 Liberty Sport, and an XLT '08 Escape. I shouldn't be going off road or towing anything, but I do need some cargo area. They both have things about them I like. I can get them priced about the same. Which one???

A: I don't know much about the Jeep Liberty but in the past I've owned an Escape. It was one of my favorite cars. The seats are easy to fold down to fit stuff in the back and the cargo room is more than adequate for normal everyday stuff. I've even managed to haul some pretty large pieces of furniture. There was plenty of head room and when traveling with other people you didn't feel like you were crammed into the vehicle. It comfortably fit 5 people. It was good on gas mileage. I traveled a great deal for work and paying for gas wasn't a huge chore. On top of that I never had any major problems with my vehicle for the 4 years I owned it. Plus I think it is a nice looking automobile. I currently own a Ford F-150 and I plan to purchase another Escape after my current lease is over.

Q: 2007 jeep liberty safety?
how safe is a jeep liberty 2008? is it realiable car? pros/con please thanks :)

A: Im a big fan of jeeps and i own a 2007 jeep liberty and have had not 1 problem with it so far 15000 miles on it and my grandma has an 06. She has only kept regular oil changes on it and thats it. It's very reliable. The safeness is key also because it is the safest jeep out there. The commander is quite safe also. So yeaa i would get it if i were you, i just wish the gas was better but its not to bad for an suv. about 23mpg.

Q: where can i find something on the jeep liberty and why they are stopping production in 2008?

A: Try Yahoo auto, good luck, I liked that Jeep too, really sharp.

Q: Do you thinkg that Jeep is gonna introduce a new Liberty design by 2008 ?
and is it true that Liberty is instable on high ways ?

A: I'm still wondering how the Liberty got to wear the JEEP name.
